Koalaty Kid Mission Statement
Northwoods Elementary staff and community are dedicated to encouraging students to become quality citizens and learners. All efforts and successes will be recognized and celebrated.

What is a Koalaty Kid?
A Koalaty Kid is one who is kind and courteous to others, does
deeds without being asked, goes above and beyond what is expected and consistently works to achieve his/her personal goals. He/she has a positive attitude and displays quality behavior in all areas of the school on a consistent basis.
What is a Koalaty Citizen?
A Koalaty Citizen is a student who always follows school rules. He/she notices and assists when others need help. Koalaty Citizens perform kind acts and always uses good manners. A Koalaty Citizen performs deeds that help make the school clean and neat. His/her attitude consistently reflects that of a Koalaty Kid and he/she has the ability to recognize and reward other Koalaty Kids. A Koalaty Citizen is recognized from each classroom every nine weeks.
What is a Koalaty Organizer?
A Koalaty Organizer is a student who uses exceptional organizational tools. For example, he/she maintains a student planner, turns in classroom and homework assignments on time and is always prepared with materials for school. A Koalaty Organizer is recognized from each classroom every nine weeks.
What is a Koalaty Worker?
A Koalaty Worker is someone who hands in written work with his/her name and assignment in the correct place, has legible handwriting, correct spacing, clean erasures and turns in a neat, smooth paper. This student follows project guidelines, and the work is completed on time and with effort and care. A Koalaty Worker is selected from each classroom every nine weeks and recognized at a school-wide celebration.
What is a Koalaty Class?
A Koalaty Class is one that consistently follows the school’s rules. If classrooms meet the required standards, they will receive weekly tokens for the classroom chart. Koalaty classes that meet their goals will be recognized quarterly by the school administration. Classes that meet the goals may nominate themselves for the nine-week “Going Above and Beyond” Koalaty Class Award, which will be named at the Koalaty Spirit Assembly.

Koalaty Kid is a way to:
- Build school spirit
- Empower the students
- Use tools and skills to encourage continuous learning.
Recognition assemblies are held four times a year to highlight individual and classroom achievements.
We make a commitment to prepare our students to become the thinkers that will lead us into the future.
