Welcome to Northwoods Elementary School!

If you have recently enrolled at Northwoods, we would like to welcome you. You are now a part of a special group we fondly call our Northwoods Family. We take great pride in our school because it is here that our administration, faculty, parents, and community alike work towards offering the best education possible to our students. The Northwoods Family will provide a nurturing environment that creates good citizens, independent thinkers and lifelong learners. Our school is a very busy place where any given time you will find many exciting programs and events taking place. We encourage our parents to come and have lunch with their children, participate in many classroom activities, join them on field trips, volunteer through the PTA in several weekly/monthly activities. Get involved! Your children will benefit in every way.

Our school is located on Chapel Hill Road in Cary between NW Maynard Road and H. Harrison Ave.  The original Northwoods building was built in 1963 and was named West Cary Elementary.  In 1971 the name was changed to Northwoods Elementary.  During the 2004-2005 school year, the school received a complete interior renovation including new wiring, flooring, ceilings, windows and carpet.  The entire interior was renovated with the addition of several new bathrooms, a teacher lounge and a new H/VAC system.  Although the school received a big face lift, the building still maintains the feel of the original Northwoods.
